Ch. Lairdoglen Rob Roy, CGC, TDI

My first show dog, and my best friend...

<DIV>Robby was bred and is co-owned with Laura Weber. Thank-you Laura for sharing him with me and teaching me all there is to know about Skye Terriers!

Robby is a Multiple Group Winner and Group Placing Skye Terrier. To date, his career has consisted of 31 Group Placements, 2 Group Wins in the US and 1 Group Win in Canada. He finished the 2006 season All Breed System, as the number #1 Owner/Handled Skye and #3 Skye Terrier.

He started his show career off for fun by attending the Lakehead Kennel Club Dog shows in Ontario, Canada, where he won BIS Puppy with an entry of 45. He would return to the Lakehead shows the following year where he won the Terrier Group from the Regular Classes.

Robby's first AKC points were garnered at the Canfield, Ohio STCA supported entry shows where he won a 5 Point Major in August of 2002. I will never forget that moment!

Early in 2003, Robby won his second Major by going Best of Breed over Specials at the Land O'Lakes Kennel Club show. It was the first time he beat his Uncle's, Conner, Danny and Homer, although they would go on to continue challenge us through the years.

That Spring, Robby was awarded a Group 2 and Group 3 AKC Placement, from the Classes, while piloted by me, his owner and handler. What a thrill that was, for an inexperienced novice!

In Summer of 2003, Rob finished his AKC Championship by winning a 5 Point Major at the Roving National Skye Terrier Club of America's show. What an honor it was to finish him at this show and to have my mentors, family and friends watching and cheering us on.

I have continued to Special him owner/handled, and have been very blessed to have such a successful record. He is an excellent dog in both conformation and in temperament.

His joyful attitude, combined with effortless movement, solid breed type, lovely neck, well constructed front assembly and overall moderation serves him well. Robby does have his Canine Good Citizen certificate and did pass testing for Therapy Dogs International.

One of his greatest gifts is reaching out to people and letting them know that Skyes are wonderful companions. While he is quick to kiss while stacked on the table, he is, and always will be, my bed dog, and my best friend.
